FULTON COUNTY, IL- The cantondailyledger.com writes that a head-on collision took place in Fulton County on December 16, 2018, at about 6:22 in the evening. The fatal crash occurred on US 136.*
Early reports indicate that the driver of a 2008 Ford, 44-year-old Erik L. Pratt, of Canton was driving east with one passenger in his vehicle, 47-year-old Tina M. Bishop, of Havana, when Pratt drifted into the westbound lanes and struck another vehicle head-on.
The other vehicle, a 2005 Chrysler van, was driven by 51-year-old Timothy M. Smith, of Lewistown.
There was a total of 8 people in the van at the time of the crash. Five of the occupants of the van werejuveniles. The front seat passenger, 83-year-old Alice G. Jones, of Macomb, was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
The juveniles in the van were all taken to the McDonough District Hospital, andfour were later released. Smith and 44-year-old Alice A. Smith, of Lewistown and a 4-year-old child,were taken to the OSF in Peoria for treatment. Pratt was injured in the crash and taken to the Mason District Hospital while Bishop was taken to the OSF.
The crash caused the closure of the highwaywhile the investigation was carried out by a crash reconstructionist.
